Drabble of Summer #26: Alcohol

The bitter liquid slid down his throat and settled pleasantly in his stomach. He let out a sigh of relief feeling its effects through his whole body. But all too soon his body stubbornly began to heal and he had to take another drink.

Peter knew that he was going down a path he shouldn’t. Beer cans and bottles were becoming a familiar sight, and the bartender knew to give him a drink without him even ordering. People like him were called alcoholics.

The nurse in him knew it was a problem, but he numbed that down along with every other pain with more alcohol.
