They called his father and brother sharks. In the legal world, Arthur was known to be fierce and unforgiving. Nathan hadn't won that reputation yet but he was well on his way. Peter did some research to fully understand the comparison. Sharks were the great predators of the ocean. They liked to swarm wherever they smelled blood in the water. Two qualities Peter could definitely match up with his father.
But the books also said sharks had to keep moving forward when they swam. They even swam in their sleep. If they stopped, they would drown and die. Sharks had to move to survive. Like his father, like his father.

So similar to Arthur and Nathan it was no wonder Peter easily believed the man to be his brother. Three sharks swimming in the sea, chomping at everything in their paths. Arthur took every ability that came his way and left nothing behind; Sylar hungered for power and forcibly extracted abilities leaving dead bodies behind.
Peter wasn't like any of them. They were sharks and he was... He didn't know what animal, but it definitely wasn't a shark.
He needed to be stronger so he took the power from Mohinder. He needed to be faster so he went hunting for the man with super-speed. Slowly, slowly Peter drew back from the world. He focused only on moving forward to the next person who needed his help.
