You owe me nothing for giving the love that I give
You owe me nothing for caring the way that I have
I give you thanks for receiving it's my privilege
And you owe me nothing in return

Peter shifted the shopping bags in his hands so he could open the door and make his way inside. He was in a very good mood because the whole time he was shopping, all he could think about was the fact that Adam called this place "home". This was probably a very small thing to be happy about but for Peter it was huge. Home meant warmth and safety, where one felt happiest. And for Adam that was in this place with Peter.

"Adam," Peter called out as he entered the house. "I'm home." It was the first time Peter used the word to describe this place in a very long time. He found he liked the way it sounded. This was definitely home for him because it was where Adam waited for him.

Except that he didn't see Adam waiting for him. Peter frowned thoughtfully and continued on into the kitchen to deposit his bags. Adam wasn't in there either. Peter tried not to be too concerned and instead focused on putting everything away.

Peter loved living with Adam. The two of them introduced each other to new experiences. Peter in particular wanted to help the immortal make up for the thirty years he spent locked away. Peter never imagined he could love someone as much as he loved Adam. So wherever they went, Peter always searched for a little token to show his love. He pulled it out now, feeling disappointed that Adam wasn't around for Peter to give it to him.

"Adam?" he called again. "Adam, where are you?" Peter went back into the living room but Adam was still gone. Peter tried the bedroom next and this time he found what he was looking for. Adam was there waiting with rose petals on the bed.

"Welcome home," Adam purred out softly.

"Adam..." Peter stared at the immortal, feeling a blush glow on his cheeks. "What's all this?"

"Just a small gesture to show how much I love you," Adam answered. He reached out for the empath, pulling Peter's body close to his and giving the younger man a kiss. Peter couldn't help smiling as he returned his lover's kiss.

"Thank you, but you didn't have to do this for me."

"Oh?" Adam smiled, eyeing the small gift Peter held in his hand. "And what is that?"

"This?" Peter held it out sheepishly. "I just thought you might like it." Adam smiled endearingly, shaking his head at the empath.

"You don't need to keep buying me things, Peter."

"I know, but I want to. I love doing things for you."

"Yes." Adam smiled, his fingers combing lovingly through the boy's hair. "And I love doing things for you, my love." Hearing those last two words made Peter's heart skip a beat. It lit up his whole face in a grin.

"I like it when you call me that."

"And I like making you happy," Adam responded.

"But you don't--" Peter stopped himself from finishing that sentence. Instead he wrapped his arms around Adam and kissed him deeply. "My love," he whispered against Adam's mouth. He saw Adam light up and that was all he needed from the immortal.
