Happy Birthday, Peter!
Dec. 23rd, 2012 05:40 pmMake a wish. When he was young, he would close his eyes and believe with all his heart that blowing out the candles would make his wish come true. They didn’t always, but that didn’t matter. There was always a chance, and that gave Peter hope. Being a typical child, he used his wishes for things like toys or tickets to sporting events.
Even at that age, he knew that if he really wanted something he could make his own wishes come true.
The flame gave off a small glow in the darkness. He watched it, barely breathing to keep the flame alive. He grew beyond wishing for toys; some would say he grew beyond wishing at all. But Peter still did it every year because he still believed in its power.
Peter closed his eyes and made his wish: All I want is to be a hero. He blew out the candle. This wish would come true; he could feel it.
