The kiss lingered on his lips all night and well into the morning. His first kiss was a long time ago but this one gave him that same giddy feeling his first did. When he played it back in his memory his heart started racing. Peter felt attraction to other men ever since he was a teenager. But he'd honestly never thought of Riley in that way before now.

The next morning spread out before him with classes, just like usual. Peter was bound to run into Riley at some point during the day. He hoped it would be sooner rather than later. He kept his eyes open as he walked the campus. Sure enough, he caught sight of the blonde when he left his last class for the day.

"Riley!" He called out the other man's name, rushing over to his side. Riley stopped, turning and flashing Peter a smile. Last night bubbled up in Peter's mind again. Being in Riley's arms, feeling the man lift him up in the air and hold him close. But he had to put that image up against the one of Riley as his good friend for months.

"Hey, Peter," Riley greeted him. "You just finish with classes?"

"Yeah." Peter shifted the weight of his his bag onto the other shoulder.

"Me too. You wanna go get some coffee?"

"Sure," Peter agreed. He followed the blonde over to the nearest Starbucks. At the moment Riley was acting more like Peter's friend than a guy who kissed him. The two entered Starbucks and sat down at one of the tables.

"You've got quite a sweet tooth, Peter," Riley remarked, chuckling. Peter shrugged his shoulders a little in response. "Not very talkative today, are you?"

"I'm just thinking," Peter answered. He swallowed, wetting his lips about. "About last night," he added, and his eyes flickered to Riley's face for the reaction. The blonde smiled in a charmingly shy kind of way.

"I've been thinking about it too." Peter couldn't help but grin wider hearing that. "You have a great smile, Peter," Riley told him. "I like that lopsided thing your mouth does."

"Thanks." Peter loved the compliments and felt he should reciprocate. "I've always thought you had great taste in movies." They smiled at each other and Peter played with his coffee cup. "So, Riley, about that kiss last night..."

"Yeah, that." The shy smile flashed on Riley's face again. "I swear I don't do that very often. It just felt right with you." Peter felt his throat go suddenly dry and he had to take a sip of coffee before he could speak.

"Why me?"

"Why not?" Riley answered with a shrug. "You're fun, you're smart, you're kind, you're really good looking... I've been attracted to you since the day we met. I just didn't know if you liked me that way. At least until last night, anyway." Peter could feel his face getting hot.

"Honestly, Riley, I... I never really thought of you like that," he said.

"Oh." Riley's face fell. Peter could tell he was disappointed.

"But that doesn't mean I can't start," Peter added.

"Yeah?" Riley's smile brightened his features again. Peter was really starting to like that smile. "Why me?"

"Well... to be honest, because I can't get your kiss out of my mind."

"You mean this?" Riley asked, leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss to Peter's mouth. It lasted only a few seconds but they were enough to take Peter's breath away. A grin spread out over his face.

"Yeah," Peter sighed out. "I could definitely get used to that."
