Peter didn’t want to seem like a typical guy but he had forgotten about their anniversary. Six months was a long time for him to be in a relationship so it was definitely worth celebrating. He just… hadn’t really thought about it. It was a good thing Rigby mentioned it or Peter would’ve had a very unhappy girlfriend.
It took him a while to decide on the perfect gift for Rigby. He hadn’t had to buy an anniversary gift for a girlfriend since high school. But after mulling it over during his lunch breaks he came up with something. He bought the gift and waited eagerly for the big day to give it to her.
“Happy anniversary,” he murmured that morning. He pressed a kiss on the girl’s cheek before slipping out of bed.
“Mmm, so far,” Rigby sighed out. “I’m surprised you remembered.”
“You gave me a little hint,” Peter admitted. He got the box with her gift inside and crawled back in bed so she could open it. The box was long and rectangular, and Peter listened with amusement as the girl’s thoughts buzzed with curiosity over what was inside.
When Rigby opened the box she would see two plane tickets nestled inside. Her mouth fell open and she stared at them for a moment in shock. She lifted her eyes to meet his. Rigby tried to form words but in the end a furious kiss was the best she could do.
“Oh, Peter, I can’t believe you-- thank you!!”
“You’re welcome.” He kissed her gently, rubbing her shoulders.
“When should we go?” Rigby asked.
“Whenever you want,” Peter answered. “It’s your gift.” She beamed at him, giving him another kiss.
“I love it,” she declared. “And I love you.”
“Love you too,” Peter answered back. They kissed again. Peter’s arms slid around Rigby’s waist and gently pulled her back down to lie in bed with him. There was no reason to get up just yet.
