Etc: Communication
Every couple struggles with communication at some point in their relationship. Do you and your partner find it easy to communicate or not?
He had the window open to let the cool autumn air into his apartment. Although it was late the city was still active, and so was Peter. His shifts were so sporadic he could never get in a normal night’s sleep. He felt someone come up behind him, rubbing his arms.
“You okay?”
“Yeah,” Peter answered. “Just thinking.” He turned to see Rigby there in a nightgown. She looked beautiful, of course. Peter smiled, running his hands over the sleek material covering her back.
“What are you thinking about?” she wondered as she leaned into his touch.
“Nothing important.” Peter kissed her neck, running down her throat until he came to the spot where the Company tagged her. He sucked on the spot, feeling Rigby slacken in his arms.
“Peter,” she sighed out. He hummed in answer. “Peter,” Rigby said again, pushing away from him. Her hand caressed his cheek lovingly. She currently wasn’t wearing her engagement ring but already it became such a common sight it was strange for her to be without it.
They were going to be married in a few months. Peter knew he should be more open with her but it scared him. So many bad things happened to people who were close to him, and he loved Rigby so much.
“I was just thinking,” he began slowly, “that being with you gives me a new reason to be glad I have powers.” When Rigby gave him a puzzled look he elaborated: “I love you and want to protect you, and because of my powers I can.”
“Oh, Peter…” The girl smiled, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him toward her for a kiss. “I love you, too.” She managed to guide him back to bed. Peter still had to work on talking, but there were some things that didn’t need words.
