He paused to wipe the sweat from his brow and heard a wolf-whistle from the porch. He glanced in that direction and saw Elle stretched out in a beach chair with a lemonade cradled in her hands. Even from where he stood Peter could see the condensation slowly running down the glass.
“Looking good, baby,” she called out. All Peter could do was let out a snort and keep on going. Stray grass was blowing all over his legs and chest, and some even got up in his mouth. He desperately wanted that lemonade.
Not that he thought Elle was purposefully taunting him with it or anything.
“Hey, babe.” Peter pulled his shirt off. “Catch,” he said, tossing it at her. Now his sweat-glistened chest would be exposed for her to enjoy while he worked. Smirking a little, he returned to the yard.
Mowing was a pain, but it was totally worth it.
