Drabble of Summer #54: Endless

He lost count of how many times they did this. Why they even bothered was a mystery to him yet here they sat. The morning was clear with a light breeze blowing by. Every day seemed so perfect here.
“One thing I like about this place,” Sylar said thoughtfully. “The view.”
“Yeah,” Peter agreed, dangling his legs over the edge of the roof. The city he’d known for years spread out below him, silent and empty. The first time he saw this Peter was unnerved but now he could see it had a kind of beauty.
Subtly Peter scooted a little closer so his arm and Sylar’s were touching.
“Actually,” Sylar added, “there are two things.” Peter smiled; he didn’t need to ask what the second thing was, and Sylar never said.
Some things were just understood.
