Drabble of Summer #32: Watermelon

He happily bit down into the fruit, loving how the juice rolled along his tongue. He almost swallowed but something stopped him: a seed. Carefully he pushed the seed to his lips and spit it out with as much strength as he could.
“Whoa!” His face broke out into a smile and he eagerly turned to his older brother. “Nate, did you see that?”
“Not bad, Pete,” Nathan said with a nod. “But watch this.” He too took a bite of watermelon, spitting out the seed. It went really far. Peter was impressed.
“My turn, my turn!” Peter took another bite. He was really starting to like watermelons. He readied the next seed and spit it. Unfortunately he didn’t get nearly as far as Nathan. But that was because the seed hit his father instead.
“Just what are you doing?” Arthur asked with narrowed eyes.
“Nothing, Dad,” the boys chimed in unison, shooting each other glances. Peter was pleased to see Nathan covering up a mischievous smile.
“Whoa!” His face broke out into a smile and he eagerly turned to his older brother. “Nate, did you see that?”
