Hurt, angry and bleeding, Peter barely noticed the rain as he walked along hoping for a cab to pick him up. So far none of them took pity on him but he didn’t mind. He just needed to keep going, to put as much distance between himself and Nathan.
And suddenly the rain stopped coming. “You’re bleeding!” Simone’s voice. She was holding an umbrella over his head.
Looking at her, all Peter could think of was the eyes on him when Nathan revealed the “suicide”. He was so angry and upset, but here Simone was without judgment. So Peter leaned in and did what he wanted for so long: he kissed her.
