The boat creaked gently under them with each turn of the oars. The lake was quiet that day with only the ducks to keep them company. Peter smiled a little as the ducks quacked at them when they floated by. The girl in the boat reached down to trail her fingers through the water.
“Are you going to row across the whole lake?” she wondered.
“That was the plan,” Peter nodded. His arms were getting tired though, so he paused to take a break. The breeze brushed against them to keep them cool under the summer heat.
“What’s the plan now?” the girl asked wryly.
“This.” Peter leaned over and kissed her. She kissed back, making the boat creak more violently under them.
