Drabble of Summer #28: Pier

His legs dangled off the edge, kicking back and forth as he peered down toward the water. All around him others were taking advantage of the beautiful day by dangling fishing lines. Peter watched them for a while but so far none of them were getting bites. Peter certainly didn’t see any fish floating underneath him.
“Oh, good, you already picked a spot.” Peter glanced up, eagerly scooting over so Nathan could sit next to him. “I got you a fishing pole, too,” the older boy added.
“Thanks, Nate.” Peter followed his brother’s example and threw the line out into the sea. Not that he expected to catch anything, but he was spending time with Nathan. That’s all he cared about.
