"It's been long enough," said Adam's voice. "It's time to try it." After months trapped here, and after preparing for this moment, finally they were going to break out of here. Elle had left the room and wasn't going to show up again until the next day. Heart pounding, Peter stood facing the wall that separated his cell from Adam's. Usually he had to think of the person he absorbed the ability from to call it forth, but in this case he had no idea where he got it from. So he focused on his desire to see Adam.
Feeling his body walk through a wall was the most bizarre feeling Peter experienced. His instinct was to panic, but he kept his mind focused and continued walking through. Adam was counting on him to do this. It seemed like minutes later when he stepped out on the other side of the wall. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.
"Peter?" There was Adam's voice. No longer muffled by a wall, but clear and strong. Peter turned to face his new friend for the very first time.
A handsome blond man stood in front of him. He looked to be about Peter's age, give or take a few years. Of course Peter knew the man to be much older than he appeared. He was wearing the same white shirt and sweats Peter had been given. A part of him knew they couldn't waste time but he couldn't help staring. And when he caught Adam's eye, he saw an eager intensity that sent shivers up his spine.
"Y-yeah," he said shyly. "It's nice to finally meet you, Adam."
"Likewise," Adam replied in his smooth British accent. Somehow it sounded better without a wall separating them. "I'm very pleased to meet you, Peter."
It had been thirty long years since he interacted with another human being. Sure he was allowed to eat and drink, and keep up a decent appearance. But here at last was someone who did not fear him-- someone who depended on him. Adam had decided it didn't matter what Peter looked like as long as the boy set him free. But now, seeing him in person, Adam knew that it mattered a great deal.
But there would be time to fully admire Peter's physique later. "Shall we be going, then?" he asked, smiling.
"Oh. Yeah, right." Peter blushed awkwardly and passed Adam to get to the other side of the room. He followed, looking very amused. Wondering what the boy thought of him. "I can get us both out of here, but you have to touch me," Peter instructed him.
"I don't think that will be a problem," Adam said with a soft purr. He rested his hand on Peter's shoulder and together the two walked their way out of their prison.
