Picture prompt
"Look at you," his mother simpered fondly. "You look so handsome. Doesn't he, Arthur?" She turned to her husband expectantly. He gave a noncommittal grunt as his response. His wife didn't mind, and neither did his young son who was squirming eagerly to get out of the house.
There were certain holidays that excited every child. Peter was about to experience one of the best ones. Ever since he was old enough to understand what was going on he loved Halloween. This year he was old enough to choose his costume for himself.
"One more picture," his mother insisted.
"Mo~m," Peter whined impatiently. He glanced over his shoulder to the front door. He could almost hear the candy calling out to him. "You're going to make me miss everything."
"All right, dear." Angela gave him an affectionate pat on the cheek. "Have a wonderful time."
"I will," Peter nodded. He waited a few more seconds before turning and racing out the door.
"Peter!" He spotted his friends coming up the street. They waved eagerly to him and he hurried to join them. Their parents arranged earlier for the boys to all go trick-or-treating together. The boys, meanwhile, made arrangements of their own.
For one magical night, Peter Pan and his Lost Boys abandoned Neverland to walk the streets of Manhattan.
