She took a plane to somewhere out in space
To start a life and maybe change the world
See I never meant for you to have to crawl
No I never meant to let you go at all

The future never seemed very real for Peter )

It was his very first Christmas with his very first girlfriend. Needless to say, Peter was nervous. He wanted everything to be perfect-- or as close to perfect as he could possibly expect knowing his family. All the teenager could really do was make it the best Christmas he could and hope Amara liked it.

Starting with this present )

All of this was very fresh and new for the teenager. Peter never imagined he would be lucky enough to find a girl who loved him, and certainly not a girl as wonderful as Amara. He was completely and helplessly in love with her and wanted every part of their relationship to be good.

Especially this part )

Peter grimaced, tugging on his tie restlessly. He didn’t mind wearing suits but on this occasion he was feeling stifled. Probably because he was forced into it by his father. He was forced into the entire day by his father. Peter couldn’t even excuse it as father-son bonding.

Pay close attention, Peter )

He stood on the bottom of these steps so many times. But never before was the walk here as painful as this time. Their fingers were twined the whole way but they didn't say a word. As they drew closer to the girl's door Peter's grip on her hand got tighter and tighter. Finally they stopped, facing each other just as they did many other times before.

So, when are you leaving? )
spongetastic: (Amara: Eyes)
Did you have a highschool sweetheart? If so, what is your best memory of the time you spent together? Did it last, or did you grow apart? If you experienced the latter, do you think of them today?

No matter how many times he stood in front of that door )

The brothers promised to spend as much time together as possible. It was difficult to do when Peter was busy with school and Nathan was hard at work. But then, Peter was used to not having enough time with his brother. Even so, it was an arrangement the brothers constantly worked on. Once Nathan got married they managed to meet consistently every week.

This Saturday found Peter on the front steps )

It was three-thirty in the afternoon. The bell rang for the last time, releasing anxious teenagers from the confines of their school. Peter was one of the eager ones ready to get out into the open air. He jumped the stairs leading out onto the sidewalk. He landed, shifting his bag on his shoulders. Peter waited there at the bottom of the stairs for his friends to catch up with him.

Once all his friends gathered they set out together down the sidewalk )

The age of thirteen was set as the milestone in every child's life. Once they passed that marker they were no longer children but teenagers. It meant they were that much closer to becoming an adult. And Peter Petrelli just turned thirteen years old.

His father took the boy aside )
